Welcome to My First Blog Post
I’m a blog ghostwriter. I create stunning blog posts for my clients to add to their websites, which allows them to draw more traffic to them and ultimately more revenue. I typically write 1-2 posts per week per client, with a 500 word minimum, and photos to accompany the posts. I have clients from many different walks of life and many different industries. I have received great testimonials from these clients, so I am confident they are pleased with my work.
So, if all of the above is true, then why don’t I have my own blog on my website? This question was posed to me by a friend recently. I am lucky to have a friend like her, as she is honest and real with me about things related to my business. We are both business owners, and she gives great advice on how to be more successful in business. She told me that I can’t really expect others to take my blogging services seriously if I don’t even have a blog on my own website.
Well, I’d like to say it has a lot to do with being so busy writing everybody else’s blogs that I don’t have time to write my own. But this simply isn’t true. I’m a great fan of affirmations, and a couple of my favorites relate to priorities. The first is: Instead of “I don’t have enough time” try saying “It’s not a priority” and see how that feels. And there’s this: There’s no such thing as being too busy. If you want something bad enough, you’ll make time for it.
I realize now that blogging is extremely important not just for your business, but for mine as well. This is my first blog post to my website, with hopefully many more to come. I have researched other blog posts related to my industry, and found many of them to be too technical and not personal enough. I feel like, as great as it is for you to get information that is going to improve your marketing or Google search placement, you also need to understand who I am as a person.
One thing that makes me different from other website designer/social media marketers/blog ghostwriter companies is that they have teams of people who assist them with the many aspects involved in producing the work the customer needs to have done. In my business, it is just my husband John and I doing all the work. So time is at a premium for us. So I want you to get to know not only what I do, but who I am.
I am a work-at-home entrepreneur. When I am not working on my business, I’m doing volunteer work for a United Way agency giving seniors and disabled people rides to doctor’s appointments. My favorite trips are the ones that take me out of town, because often these are long appointments, and I can sit in the doctor’s office waiting room and get some work done. That’s the beauty of this kind of work. Have computer, will travel. I try to give back to the community that has helped make my business a success.
Until recently, John and I owned a company called Senior Circuit, LLC. We taught senior citizens how to use computers and other technology. In a round about way, that’s how I got into doing web design. One of our clients owned a business and ask me if I would help her build a website using Wix. She had a great spirit and really did most of the work herself, but it was fun teaching her how to do it. We closed Senior Circuit in May to pursue Debutant Web Design full time.
In the coming blogs, I will definitely talk to you about things related to what I do in business, but for my first blog post, I just wanted to introduce myself.
